Uniontown, OH – The Home Builder Association Awards for Ohio’s Summit and Portage counties were held February 16 and, once again, Wayne Homes held its own.
Dana Cross was named Sales Manager of the Year for her work in Wayne’s Akron Medina Model Home Center and Tim Morian, Wayne’s Portage-based Field Manager, won the Golden Hammer. Which marks the third year in a row the award has gone to a field manager from the Portage office.
“Pretty incredible,” is how Alan Longstreth, Wayne’s Portage Construction Manager describes the phenomenon. Three field managers, three consecutive awards. “I’m very proud of them.”
Yet in an office of deep field manager talent Morian distinguished himself. And it was all about customer service.
“All the way through the construction process, Tim was on top of keeping us informed about the progress and resolving any issues,” Wayne customers Carissa and Thomas Wilcox wrote in a letter submitted to the HBA. The letter went on to say, in addition to Morian being one of the reasons the couple chose Wayne as their builder, that “by the end of the process he felt like a friend and we were sad to see him go.”
Perhaps more telling than what Morian’s customers said about him was what he was quoted saying to one of his customers: “Don’t worry.”
“From that day until the day we had the final walkthrough, Tim always had a smile and maintained a can-do attitude,” says Wayne customer John Donehoo in another letter.
Morian’s ability to put his customers at ease, make them feel like they’re part of the team and manage the entire process are characteristics he shares with Sales Manager of the Year, Dana Cross.
“Even when we were done with the sales part of our transaction,” Wayne homebuyer Linda Dupalga writes. “Dana would periodically call to see if everything was going well.”
“I still talk to her,” Dupalga goes on to say. “She is a great person and she is a great asset to the Wayne Homes Family.” A sentiment echoed by everyone at Wayne and, now, across two counties.
Wayne Homes also picked up awards for top New Home Sales Performers, based on 2011 closings. Catherine Pergins won Platinum. Gloria Williams was not far behind with the Gold. Followed by Gregg Brown with the Silver.
Finally, Wayne’s trophy case will now also house marketing awards including: Best Social Media, Best Email Newsletter and Best Website, WayneHomes.com.
