The homebuilding process: Construction phase

The homebuilding process is not always a totally linear one. There are different phases we go through, as you can see in this post about the Wayne building process. One phase everyone goes through — obviously! — is the building, or construction, phase. Once certain details are finalized, building will begin. You and your Field Manager will have several scheduled meetings throughout the process. For example, you’ll meet for a frame walk through and also a pre-drywall orientation before your closing walk through. And anytime in between!

As your home gets close to completion, you and your Field Manager will walk through the home and start a checklist of any items or issues of concern. We want to turn your home over to you with zero defects; this meeting helps our production team determine what needs to be done in order to meet that goal!

We spoke with some Wayne Homes customers to hear from them about what they liked most about this portion of the building process. One theme we noticed? A huge appreciation for our Field Managers; they work hard to make sure you are informed every step of the way. Here’s what our customers had to say!

“Closing day was great. There were no surprises and we felt like our field manager Trevor Vining thoroughly explained everything and made the process seamless and smooth. Trever worked with our schedule and returned himself and with contractors as needed to make sure every room in our house was perfect!”

“Jon [Smith] was very good about communicating the process and the work to be completed in the coming week. He could not have done a better job to resolve issues in a timely manner, keeping us informed all the way through the process.”

“Lou [LaGuardia] has done an OUTSTANDING job managing my build. He has taken the time to always speak with me, meet me on a regular basis at the job site, and has gone above and beyond on several occasions to make sure that all work is done right.”

“We could not have been happier with our entire experience from start to finish. Butch [Munday] was helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. We chose a lot of included features for our home and we are very happy with the look of everything. The color selections fit our style very well and we are very pleased with our new home.”

“Kenny (Oles) was an awesome project manager that kept us well informed every step of the way and put our wants and needs first and foremost. He answered the million emails and texts we sent with questions or concerns and did so with the utmost professionalism.”

“The quality and craftsmanship of the materials used are amazing. Everything went smooth and when something needed attending to, Brian [Michna] did it in a prompt manner. Everyone at Wayne was so helpful and caring and I appreciate it greatly.”

“Two months ago we shared our home under construction. This Friday we close on our home! It was such a relief to have Rich Flickner as our field manager. I don’t know if we could have gone through with it all without him! He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to help us out.” – Facebook reviewer

We love our field managers, and clearly, our customers do too! When you build with us, you’ll have a dedicated field manager keeping you in the loop every step of the way. It’s all part of the Wayne experience, and our customers wouldn’t have it any other way!
