Top Color Trends of 2020

The new year is here, and it’s time to look at color trends for 2020. Gone are the ubiquitous gray walls of the past. Say bye-bye to cold color palettes. Here are the Top Color Trends of 2020:

Earthy, Warm Tones

Think tones of clay and terracotta, as well as warm pastel tones. Clay and terracotta shades add character and depth to a room. Soft pinks are warm, calming and quietly sophisticated. These colors complement many different looks and support deeper jewel-toned accents.

Blue is the New Gray

Bye-bye gray. Moody blues are in. From misty tones to deep, rich blues, there is a wide range of colors that can be used everywhere from walls to kitchen cabinets and make a statement while being neutral at the same time. The Pantone Color of the Year is Classic Blue. We can see this color pop in a powder room or on a kitchen island. How would you use it?

Material World

Beyond paint, materials will play a big role in the overall palette of your home. Dark-toned wood is still a classy choice for flooring. Leather couches and chairs add warmth and tactile depth to a room. Similarly, velvet brings a cozy, high-end look to upholstered furniture and home accents. Stone continues to be a top choice for countertops. A great alternative to pricey stone products that homeowners love is Wilsonart Laminate countertops.

Pattern Play

Patterns in fabrics, wall coverings, tile work, decor, and artwork can make a big difference in the feel of your home. Look for scalloped edges in 2020. Botanical and large floral prints are another trend that makes a big impact on accent walls or decorative tile.
