Spring means the beginning of open house season.
April 22, 2010
The grass is growing. The trees are budding. The tulips are popping. And at Wayne Homes, the open houses are … opening.
A few years ago, Wayne Homes began holding open houses during the warm months. Although Wayne Homes maintains a number of model home centers, the open houses let the public tour certain floorplans that don’t exist as model homes. All of the open houses are still under construction, since each one is a home that’s being built for a Wayne customer. But according to Maurie Jones, vice president of marketing for Wayne Homes, that only adds to the experience.
“The open houses are so interesting and helpful to people,” says Jones. “They let you see how a particular floorplan really lives. And since the homes are under construction, you also get an inside-the-walls view of our construction quality. It’s like having x-ray vision.”
Sometimes the owner of the home that’s being built will attend the open house. This gives visitors the opportunity to hear from somebody who’s actually gone through the Wayne Homes building process. “It’s very reassuring to talk to somebody who has done what you’re thinking about doing.” Jones says.
Wayne Homes has had several open houses already in April, including two that are next door to each other in Sandusky. “So visitors saw two houses in one trip,” Jones says. And of course there will be more open houses throughout the summer and into fall. Get the details at WayneHomes.com/OpenHouse
