The philosophy behind our beautiful model homes
Model homes are our way, here at Wayne Homes, to get prospective home owners to truly see and feel what the inside of a Wayne Homes-built home is like. Pictures, swatches and virtual tours all have their place, but nothing really compares to actually being inside a home.
That said, we know some of our prospective builders have expressed a bit of confusion about why we design our model homes the way we do, and we wanted to take an opportunity to explain the method behind our practices!
At Wayne, we see our models as a living catalog, where customers can see all the different possibilities.
We used to have our model homes include just the basics, with no extra features, so customers saw what a “base price” home would look like. The problem with that? Customers did not understand that they could do a LOT more than what they saw! If they didn’t see it in the model home, they assumed they couldn’t do it at all. And we definitely didn’t want them assuming that.
We encourage prospective home buyers to make an appointment with one of our New Home Consultants to walk through a model home; that way, our consultant can explain the features that are shown, what’s included, what’s not, and discuss many other custom(ization) ideas that are possible.
Everything from tiles in the shower to hardwood floor options, bonus rooms and open staircases, even trim options and crown molding can be added, subtracted, or otherwise customized to meet your specific desires.
We know it’s virtually impossible to build a model that would meet each and every prospective home buyer’s requirements, and we certainly don’t expect to sell a home that is exactly like a model. But what we do hear often is, “We love this kitchen!” or “I want that master bathroom!” And then, we do everything we can to work that design into the home our buyer wants.
Think about a model home as a book of possibilities – a catalog of choice – that gives you and your family the best experience in terms of determining exactly what you want in your future home.
