How custom is a custom home by Wayne Homes?
It’s a question that we get asked a lot around here. After all, when we say, “There’s almost nothing we won’t build” we understand there’s bound to be skeptics. And that’s ok. But instead of telling you about all of the possibilities when you build a custom home with Wayne, we thought we’d show you!
Each year we ask our Wayne Homes customers to show off ways that they have re-thought, re-designed, and re-imagined our 40 custom home floor plans to create something that’s completely new. We call it our Custom Showcase Contest. It’s an opportunity for Wayne Homes customers to send in photos of their home for a chance to win a gift card valued at up to $1,000.
Every year it gets harder to choose our favorites as our customers get more and more creative, and this year was no exception. Meet the three Wayne Homes customers that took top honors this year.
First Place Winner: Nick and Tiffany Osterwyk
When the Osterwyks came to us and told us they wanted to turn our popular Annapolis floor plan into a custom Craftsman-style dream home, we were excited by their vision – and what a vision it was! The Osterwyks re-imagined the floor plan with a beautiful quartz stack stone backsplash – the perfect compliment to the gleaming granite counters. Nick and Tiffany also opened the area between the kitchen and family room to create a flowing, open space for entertaining.
Second Place Winner: Stewart Sportman
Congratulations to our second place winner, Stewart Sportman, who built a custom Winchester plan with lots of wow factor. Stewart turned the bonus room into a home theater (which is sure to be a hit on game day). Stewart also designed a stunning kitchen with stone and tile throughout and added stunning tile to the shower and oversized soaking tub surround.
Third Place: Brent and Lori Shipley
We love this dramatic two-story fireplace that third place winners Brent and Lori Shipley included in their new Wayne Home – the perfect place to get cozy on cold winter nights. The Shipleys also designed a custom kitchen island that’s perfect for their busy family.
People’s Choice Winner: Regis and Sharon Karlheim
The people voted, and what did they love most about Sharon Karlheim’s home? Pretty much everything! Sharon’s creative approach to her custom home included dozens of thoughtful features throughout, including transforming the classy Providence Legacy elevation into a traditional home with rustic country charm appeal. The exterior design included carriage-style garage doors with straps and handles and board-and-batten shutters.
