Get Exactly What You Want with the Personal Value List

We believe that when you’re ready to build your custom home with us, you shouldn’t have to compromise…on anything. That’s what makes the building process with us so special—it’s a truly customized experience. We also understand that most buyers have a budget in mind, so to keep your custom home as affordable as possible, while providing you all the features you want, we created the Personal Value List.

Custom Home Planning

When you are reviewing custom home plans, you may feel like the customization isn’t exactly to your tastes. What works for one homeowner usually doesn’t work for another. There are certain features of custom homes that naturally come to mind: gourmet kitchens, outdoor living spaces, built-in features, etc. But, what if you don’t like to cook, and you’re rarely in the kitchen? Or, you’d rather have an enclosed patio rather than an outdoor oasis? We say, “That’s ok! Do what you want!” It’s your prerogative to decide what goes, what stays or what you’d rather create all by yourself.

Making Your List

This is the fun part. Take all of those dreams and wishes you’ve had and write them all down. Whether it’s a bonus room for arts and crafts or a huge master suite, we can make it a reality. It helps to get everything down on paper, so you can decide what you really want…and what you don’t. As you go through, start thinking about the spaces and places that are most important to you. Where do you spend most of your time? What would make life easier for you and your loved ones? Is there a feature you’ve always wanted in a home, but never had it? Take stock now, and then review

Prioritizing

Once you have your wish list in place, it’s time to prioritize. If the sky’s the limit for your budget, then great! However, most of us have a ceiling on what we can spend. Write numbers next to each of your wish list items in order of importance. It might take a few rounds to get this just right, but this will help when you put your Personal Value List together. After all the items are properly prioritized, do another once over to see if anything could be eliminated. Or, take a look at the floorplan you are customizing, and see if there are any features you’d like to get rid of in order to free up some budget for your top-rated wish list items.

Working Together

This is a time for you to discuss everything you want (and don’t want) in detail.
