2020 Landscape Contest: The Winners Are In!
We stopped and smelled the roses…and now we’re ready to share the cream of the crop with all of you. Thank you to everyone who entered this year’s Wayne Homes Landscaping Contest, which ended on July 6th. We look forward to this contest every year because we get to admire all of your hard work in your beautiful yards. While building homes is our thing, there’s no denying that landscaping is the icing on the cake. Whether you have the prettiest perennials on the block or a zen garden that makes your backyard a little slice of heaven, your outdoor spaces always amaze us.
As a reminder, our lucky winners will receive the following for their entries:

Here is this year’s crop of gardening gurus who received two green thumbs up from the Wayne Homes team:
1st Place Winner: The Buxton Family – Alexandria Legacy
The Buxton family perfectly framed their Alexandria Legacy home with beautiful shrubs and flowers that bring color and vibrancy to her home’s entry. What a way to say “welcome home”! When asked what their favorite part of building her home with Wayne was, Rachael Buxton said, “The simplicity of the building process.” Well, your home is simply amazing. Congratulations to the Buxton family!
2nd Place Winner: The Armendarez Family – Gettysburg Craftsman
The second-place winners, the Armendarez family, bring Southern charm to their front porch with a combination of rocks and flowers, highlighted by two relaxing rocking chairs, meant for people-watching and long talks while sipping iced tea. Suzanne Armendarez says the best part about building her Gettysburg Craftsman with Wayne was, “creating and watching your dream home be built. Everyone on Wayne Homes staff was a pleasure to work with.” The feeling is mutual! Congratulations to the Armendarez family!
3rd Place Winner: The Miller Family – Cedar 
Hill Tradition
Third place goes to the Miller family, whose lush landscaping outside of their Cedar Hill Tradition brings a pop of color to her well-maintained grounds. The landscaping makes their Cedar Hill Tradition home even more welcoming. Deborah Miller said the best part of building her home with Wayne was “seeing what we designed come to life!” We feel the same way. Congratulations to the Miller family!
People’s Choice 
Winner: The Vargas Family – McAllister Family
The People’s Choice award goes to the Vargas family, who created a beautiful path to their home with a combination of landscape lighting, shrubs, and rocks. Artfully arranged, their front landscaping truly makes it a pleasure to arrive home. Jenelle Vargas says the best part of building her McAllister Family with Wayne was “being able to make changes to fit our style! Working with all the staff was great they made it fun and easy!” Congratulations to the Vargas family!
