Fun at the annual Mud Hens Raving Fan event
When we build a home for a family, we develop a strong relationship with them. That makes sense, given the amount of time and thought that goes into creating a Wayne Homes home. But unlike other builders, that relationship doesn’t end when we hand the keys over to their new home.
We like to hold customer appreciation events to give both our families and our employees an opportunity to spend time together in a fun setting.
This year, our annual Mud Hens Raving Fan event drew a whopping 15 families, or about 75 individuals – the most we’ve ever welcomed to this particular event. About 18 employees and their families – 45 people in total – came out, giving each group an opportunity to mix and mingle throughout the night.
Our Ball Park buffet, which featured awesome tradition baseball fare like burgers, hot dogs, potatoes, pasta salad, watermelon, and sweet treats, was a huge hit, fueling families, employees, and their loved ones throughout the whole game.
To make the event even better, we had all families who had given a referral to Wayne Homes put their names in a drawing for a gift card. The Cline family walked away with a $100 Amazon gift card, while 9-year-old Alexander Roerdink won the sucker guessing game with his guess of 83 – just two away from the actual total. His prize was a $25 gift card to the Mud Hens gift shop.
Kids enjoyed meeting Muddy the Mud Hens mascot and having their picture taken with him, and also loved the Mud Hens cup they received that was filled with candy. Families were also entered into a raffle to win gift cards from Kohl’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond, Olive Garden, Home Depot and more, and every family walked away with at least one!
The Mud Hens may have lost the game, but that didn’t stop everyone from having a great time. “I was thrilled to have such a great turnout for our Raving Fans event,” said Lisa Sidoti, Bowling Green Sales Manager. “We really enjoyed getting to spend time with our homeowners and their families, and hear stories about all the wonderful things they’ve done with their homes. The kids were having a blast and it was neat to see new friendships being made! I can’t wait until next year’s event.”
