Ohio-based custom home builder Wayne Homes recently announced the promotion of four employees into several key management positions throughout the company.
Wayne Homes, a custom home builder that specializes in affordable on-your-lot custom homes, has announced the promotion of four employees, including three key management positions.
“This is a time of rapid growth for our company, and we’re repositioning several key people to lay the groundwork for further growth in 2014. In many ways, we’ve been preparing for this for several years by investing in ongoing education for all employees. By investing in our team when the market was challenging, we are able to remain competitive in a strong market with a deep bench of internal talent to draw from to help us grow,” says Wayne Homes President George Murphy.
Promotions include Jackie Smoyer, who was recently promoted from Pittsburgh Sales Manager to Regional Vice President of Sales. Since joining the company in 2006 Smoyer and her team have produced the highest number of sales for the company for four consecutive years. In addition to her previous role as Sales Manager, Smoyer has led many of the company’s sales training initiatives.
Additional promotions include Scott Schoonover who will take over as Pittsburgh Sales Manager after joining the company last year as Sales Manager in the company’s Delaware location. Hilary Barbuto, who has been with the company for ten years, will take over as Delaware Sales Manager.
The company also announced the promotion of Stephanie Brady to Customer Consultant in Newark. Stephanie and her husband Jeremy, who is a Field Manager with the company, built their own Wayne Home in 2011.
According to Vice President of Organizational Development Mike Leckie-Ewing, each promotion represents a thoughtful, strategic plan for managing increased demand for affordable custom homes without compromising company culture.

Leckie-Ewing states that the company’s growth and promote-from-within strategy opens up new leadership opportunities, adding that Dan Tripp was recently hired as Construction Manager at Bowling Green.
