Way before construction comes all the planning and inspiration, and that’s what’s so exciting. With a huge amount of design resources out there to inspire, help you collect ideas and communicate your preferences to your builder, there’s no better time than now to get started. Houzz
If you haven’t visited Houzz, you are missing out on one of the largest online resources for home inspiration. You can search by room type, house style or for finishing touches, like lighting and décor. Your detailed search will result in everything plus the kitchen sink (pun intended). As a user, you can create an ideabook for images you love, follow friends and pros alike and even shop for the must-have products you see showcased on Houzz. We suggest you start an ideabook for each room in your home, then you can show us your ideas when we start to customize your floorplan. Once construction is underway, revisit Houzz to switch your inspiration to décor, and then start shopping!
Most of you have likely heard of Pinterest, the web and mobile app that provides a visual discovery, collection, sharing and storage tool for users. You create virtual pinboards that house all of your ideas either taken from the web or other Pinterest users, or pinners. This is a great way to grab ideas you see on the web and put them somewhere you won’t forget. The Pinterest button can be easily added to your favorite browser so you can add an image, product or idea with just a click of your mouse. At Wayne Homes, we love Pinterest. In fact, we have 63 boards and more than 1,000 pins…and counting! It’s a great way for us to add images of model homes, recent customizations and features we think you’ll love. Be sure to follow us on Pinterest as you create your own boards, so you can see what’s new on ours.
Flickr
Flickr is all about photo sharing. We suggest you use Flickr to get ideas when you are starting to plan your home, but it’s also a great place to stash all of your photos throughout the homebuilding process. We love to see homeowners post pictures of their homesite, the foundation being poured and turning of the key in their freshly painted front door. It takes you on a visual journey, and it feels as if you’re right there with them. We have more than 4,200 photos on our Flickr page and 143 albums. We are constantly adding images to our library, so we can share the beautiful exteriors and interiors of our homes. We also like to add homeowner customization shots, so you can see that almost anything is possible with Wayne Homes.
