Custom Windows That Wow

Without a doubt, windows make all the difference in your home.

Natural light makes every room seem bigger, better, and brighter. And windows determine how much of that light floods your home. Windows also play a major role in the style of your home. Do you know all the options available? There is a wide range to choose from, so let’s take a look at them all in this guide to custom windows.

What’s Your Type?

At Wayne Homes, we offer Pella Encompass vinyl single hung windows with NaturalSun LowE insulating double pane glass as part of our included features. Here are the different types of windows available:

Casement windows–Casement windows feature wide profiles with a curved detail for an upscale design and open effortlessly for ventilation.

Picture windows

Picture windows are stationary, rectangular, non-opening windows that allow light into the room. Picture windows are usually added to the rear of the great room. Many of our customers that have two-story great rooms will add picture windows to bring in lots of natural light to the space. They allow you to bring the beauty of the outdoors inside without the need to actually open and shut these windows.

Bay windows

A bay window is a window space projecting outward from the main walls of a building and forming a bay in a room. Bay windows are a great way to capture the beauty of the outdoors and make any room in your home more elegant and inviting. The extra light and space can make the room feel a little bigger with the bump-out. You can even add a window seat beneath the bay window to create a cozy reading nook. Our Sandusky Providence II model home features a beautiful walkout bay window.

Sliding glass doors

Sliding glass doors offer a quick connection to the outdoors and bring in lots of natural light. Pella Encompass vinyl sliding patio doors are included in every Wayne home for easy access to the backyard. Want to upgrade to an atrium-style door? Just ask us–we can research any custom option you want.

Which Color to Choose?

Did you know you can get windows in a wide range of colors now? White is our included color. However, we also offer almond (tan), fossil (dark putty), and black windows. Black is a very popular window color choice and is included with the farmhouse elevation. White, tan, and gray colors are perennial favorites because of their neutral appeal and light, bright appearance.

Grids or No Grids?

The style of the window grid you choose can greatly affect the look and feel of your home. Traditional grids are the colonial pattern you typically see on classically styled homes. They can come in 4-, 6- or 9-lite patterns. Prairie grid patterns are divided into unequal panes. They feature a larger square in the middle and smaller squares in the corners. These are typically seen in craftsman-style homes. Farmhouse-style grids are commonly a two-over-two design, but can also feature a cross design or upper grid only.

These days, interior design is anything but matchy-matchy, so feel free to mix and match window styles to achieve the look you want in your custom home by Wayne.
