Featured Instagram Testimonial: The Swicks' Auburn II

The Swick Family has shared their Wayne Homes build process on their corner of the internet @our.crazy.little.cuckoos.nest on Instagram.

Devan and Brun, along with their children, built a beautiful Auburn II Classic and worked with our Newark office. Sue Crow was their New Home Consultant and Tom Strejcek was their Field Manager. Their Auburn II was one of the first of this floor plan ever built. Let’s hear more about their experience.

• Rough Sketch: You can see where the Swick family’s home began with this rough sketch. It’s crazy to think that just 7 months later, they were closing on their beautiful new Wayne home!
• Dig Day: This is when things start to feel real. Dig day means that you’re breaking ground and the ball is officially rolling on your new build. Watching the “first scoop” was a highlight for the Swick family in August!
• Framing: The next month brought framing, which made visualizing their Auburn II home that much easier. With more exterior and first-floor walls up, the Swicks were able to actually stand in the house and imagine where things would go.
• Siding complete: What a difference a few hours make! The siding crew got all of the home’s siding on in about 4-5 hours and were packing up to leave by lunchtime. The Swicks fell in love with the look of the rich, dark siding they chose.
• Cabinets and Countertops: On day 79 of their build, the cabinets and countertops went in. The Swicks were delighted with their Viscount White countertops in their beautiful kitchen.
• Lighting: On day 84 into the build process the Swicks got a lighting sneak peek in the great room and foyer. The spouting was installed and they got their mailbox set! The finishing touches make a huge difference.
• Floors: With the floors down and only carpet left to go in the bedrooms, the Swicks’ home is really coming together!
• Kitchen Final Look: One final look at the kitchen with the cabinets, countertops, backsplash, and lighting in and you get the full impact of the Swicks’ design selections. A beautiful modern kitchen that will be a joy to cook and live in for years to come!
