Meet the PA: Kathy Webb

This month, we’d like you to get to know our featured Production Administrator, Kathy Webb. Kathy works at our Delaware Model Center. She has been with Wayne Homes for 9 years and her role is to assist buyers as they move through the construction process. Kathy walks customers through the permitting process as well as the construction loan process, known as Cycle Two. Since building a home on your lot requires that the homeowner applies for their own permits, and that can vary from state to state and county to county, we are here to guide you through the process step by step. As a Production Administrator, Kathy is always available to help with any questions our customers have about pulling permits and financing.

We asked Kathy to get you the answers to her most frequently asked questions and she graciously shared her expert advice.

What are some common questions you get from our homeowners during the Cycle Two process and how do you answer them?

What I hear most often is, “Why are there so many permits?” My answer: I know it can seem like a lot, but I have been doing this for a very long time and I am here to help in any way that I can, from running permits to agencies to filling out the application. I have seen and done it all, so while the amount of permits needed may be overwhelming, I am here to make it manageable.

What advice do you have for those beginning their building journey or current homeowners?

In the beginning, be patient. We will get there. Cycle Two is the part of the process that no one loves, but if they listen and follow my lead, I will help make this part of their journey easier and less stressful.

What do you like most about your job as a PA? What do you like most about working for Wayne?

As a Production Administrator, I enjoy helping people make their house become a reality. From closing at the bank to explaining why you need temporary power on site to start construction. Every day I feel like I’ve taught someone something new. I learn something new most days too, and that is what makes my job so interesting!

The best part about working at Wayne is the people. It’s like one big happy family!

What is your favorite floor plan and why?

The Bristol. If I was ever to build, I would build a Bristol. Part of why I love it so much is because it is a compact home, and I don’t like to clean!

Tell us about you. Family? Kids? Pets? Hobbies?

My husband and I have five kids between the two of us ranging from 8 to 21 years old. Both 21-year-olds (mine and his) are in nursing school. Then, hanging out with the rest of the kids and family is about the only hobbies that I have, but that includes horse shows for the girls in the summer and my son rides bulls and ropes in rodeos on the weekends. So, we stay busy traveling around for those activities most of the year.
