The Litchfield: New ranch floorplan is big on character

September 30, 2010

“Lots of space doesn’t make a great home,” says Wayne Homes Director of Product Development, Joel Cardinal. “Great space makes a great home.”

He is referring to Wayne Homes’ newest home design, the Litchfield. It’s a three-bedroom ranch home with 2,206 finished square feet … and more than its share of flavor. “Just look at the breakfast room,” Cardinal says. “Think about sitting there with your cornflakes and your paper. Sunlight pouring in through two windows and a sliding glass door. See? It’s not a big room, but it will put a big smile on your face.”

The Litchfield floorplan includes many other life-enhancing features. Such as a nicely secluded master bedroom suite with a full master bath and his-and-her closets. Two secondary bedrooms that share another full bath at the other end of the home. A laundry room large enough to accommodate a utility sink and a storage closet. “And did you notice the office?” Cardinal points to an irregularly shaped room with French doors just off the foyer. “It’s not the typical rectangular room. It has a sort of entry area. I like to think of it as the lobby to your home office.”

As with many of Wayne Homes’ other floorplans, the Litchfield’s dining room, great room and kitchen create a large, free-flowing space that, as Cardinal puts it, “is just begging for a big party.” And guests will be welcomed into the home by a friendly front porch and an elegant, columned foyer.

“That’s what I’m talking about,” Cardinal says. “Details that make the big picture a really beautiful picture.” And with Wayne Homes’ willingness to make custom changes, homebuyers will be able to make that picture their own.
