What to Expect: Construction
It’s go time! The construction phase of the Wayne Homes building process is when it all starts to feel real. The foundation goes in, framing goes up, the roof goes on, windows, doors and siding slide into place, electrical and plumbing gets hooked up, drywall, trim, and cabinetry are installed, and last but not least, the final walkthrough happens. We are there for you every step of the way, with regular check-ins and answers to any of your questions. Let’s dig right in.
Dig Day and Beyond
As part of our What to Expect video series, our Field Manager, Brian, explains the construction process starting with groundbreaking. Dig day is often the most exciting part of the process for our homeowners because all of the design, finance and permitting have been completed, so now all that planning becomes reality.
Here’s an outline of what happens after groundbreaking:
- Foundation Phase
- Framing
- Windows, doors and siding installation
- Rough Mechanicals
- Drywall Phase
- Trim, cabinetry, and flooring
Inspections
During the building process, there will be a number of inspections by both the homeowner and the local building department. The building department’s goal is to ensure your home is safe and efficient. With all of the inspections needed to complete your home, we like to make our communications between the homeowner, Wayne Homes and the building department as seamless and easy as possible. We tailor that communication to fit your lifestyle – whether that’s via phone, text or emails. We keep you informed, so you’re always in the loop. And that communication doesn’t stop after construction – it continues through the warranty phase once you are living in and loving your new home
