Winchester II Refreshed Model and Gallery
Dreaming of a silent night? The Winchester II is a home that uses space to create peace. An abundance of bathroom space makes everyone happy. Siblings seem almost civil to one another. No more banging the door down to take your turn in the morning. A true miracle!
The Winchester II is a two-story home with the owner suite on the first floor.
It includes 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and is 3,135 square feet in size. It also includes an attached 2-car garage.
Parents, you’ll have the ideal setup in the Winchester II. Let’s start with the private, luxurious owner suite. Note the dual walk-in closets — which can be translated as “that pile of dirty clothes won’t get in the way of me finding the right pair of shoes.” We’re not saying plenty of storage guarantees happiness, but it’s darn close.
There’s even a walk-in kitchen pantry, where meal fixins and family-sized cereal boxes have all the space they could ask for. And when you consider that it’s easy to add a fifth bedroom and a bonus room with another bath…well, that’s a lot of space and a lot of peace.

Our refreshed Winchester II model home at the Portage Model Home Sales Center includes some great new customizations that really add to this wonderful floor plan to make it even better (yes, it’s possible!).
The model home features the Craftsman exterior option which adds a full front porch across the front of the home with Craftsman-style tapered porch posts on stone bases, shake siding in the front gables, stone wainscoting and foundation wrap across the front, and stone on the front wall of the garage bump out. Millwork gable brackets were added to the front gables. Board and batten shutters or 3-1/2″ trim surround are at the windows on the front. The front windows feature prairie-style window grids in the top half. The front door and sidelites are wood-grained fiberglass options with added glass. The exterior light fixtures at the front door and the garage were changed to Craftsman style.
The interior of the model home features the Craftsman III interior door style (which is an interior door option from our Included Features), Halifax interior door levers in a matte black finish, 9′ ceilings on the first floor, Craftsman-style interior trim and jamb/cased windows throughout the home, and knockdown stomped ceiling texture on the ceilings.
The flooring throughout the foyer, dining room, powder room, laundry room, den, kitchen, breakfast room, and great room is Mohawk Antique Allure Kindling Oak laminate (which is a level 4 laminate flooring option).
Custom light fixtures and additional lighting have been added throughout the home. Four feet of space was added to the rear of the breakfast room making it approx 14.5′ deep. A window seat with a shiplap accent wall was added on the side exterior wall of the breakfast room. This wall also features a third window was added to the space. The walk-in pantry door was changed to a sliding barn door option with black hardware.
The kitchen features white-painted Benton birch-style cabinetry at the butler’s pantry, the island nearest the great room, and on the side exterior wall. The center kitchen island features Burlap-stained Benton birch-style cabinetry. Crown molding was added to the top of the wall cabinets. The kitchen features quartz countertops in white pearl and the kitchen sink was changed to a Blanco Silgranit double bowl farmhouse apron front sink in white. The kitchen faucet and cabinet hardware were changed to brushed gold options, while the kitchen backsplash is Ice White subway tile with Fresh Lily grout.
The microwave was relocated to a base cabinet and a range hood was added above the range space on the side exterior wall of the kitchen. A beverage fridge was added in the butler’s pantry with cabinetry flanking, and glass was added to the butler’s pantry wall cabinets.
An approximately 16′ x 16′ covered concrete porch with a cathedral ceiling was added to the rear of the breakfast room, and the patio slider on the rear of the breakfast room was changed to a 3-panel slider that is approximately 9′ wide. A two-story fireplace was added on the rear of the great room which features a 42″ direct vent fireplace unit, as well as the Battlefield mantel and black granite surround with a shiplap wainscoting detail extended to the ceiling above.
Wood beams were added at the entrance from the foyer to the dining room, as well as at the kitchen and breakfast room. Shiplap accents were added to the columns flanking the kitchen island nearest the great room, as well as to the back of the double islands in the kitchen. The den was enclosed and 9-lite French doors with prairie grids were added between the den and the foyer
The laundry room features a custom cabinetry bench with coat hooks instead of the included closet. A utility cabinet was added next to the washer/dryer space, and 3 floating shelves were added on the wall above. The owner’s suite features the redesigned entrance from the owner’s bedroom to the owner’s bathroom, as well as a tile shower with a fiberglass base, freestanding tub, tile flooring, Benton Birch burlap stained vanity cabinets, Quartz countertops in Tempest Carrara with rectangular undermount sinks, and brushed gold faucets and cabinet hardware.
The Winchester II model shows a bonus room added above the garage which is one of the options available on the Winchester II Interactive Floorplan.
With the added bonus room, the ensuite bathroom for bedroom 4 is relocated to the hallway outside of the bonus room. This bathroom features a 60″ shower, as well as a Brellin PureStyle vanity in a white, cultured marble countertop, and matte black faucets and cabinet hardware.
The bonus room features shiplap accents on the columns and walls. The Jack-and-Jill bathroom located between bedrooms 2 and 3 features shiplap accents on the wall. The vanity in this bathroom is Brellin PureStyle in white with cultured marble countertop and rectangular above-counter sinks. The faucets and cabinet hardware were changed to matte black. The flooring is Mohawk Rexford in Dusty Trail, which is an included flooring option.
Our Grand Opening Event for the Winchester II Model Home happened on Saturday, 10/29 and Sunday, 10/30.
Our team greeted over 30 families this weekend including new prospects, folks under construction, homeowners, and our employees’ friends and family. The Portage Field Managers also stopped by throughout the weekend to help.
The interior designers of the Winchester II model were on hand for a couple of hours on Saturday afternoon to share about the selections shown in the model and their design approach. Attendees loved the Winchester II updates, especially the mixed neutrals, the new ceiling beams, and the new bathroom layout.
