And, when we’re very lucky, some of our homeowners post regularly on social media and share their beautiful homes regularly. Cathy and Duane are some of those homeowners.
Cathy and Duane built their McAllister Family in 2018 with our Delaware office and now Cathy shares on Instagram how she styles her home. She also decorates others’ homes with her business HomeStyles. We asked Cathy to share a little about their home:
How would you describe your decorating/home style and why?
I have different styles for the seasons; Spring & Summer – coastal. Fall & Winter – Modern farmhouse.
Material/fabric – cotton and linens, some burlap. Soft muted creams, taupes, and whites.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Depending on seasons, Target-Studio McGee and Hearth & Hand. Pottery Barn, Joanna Gaines, and my own inspiration.
What is your favorite room in your home and why?
I love the open living room and kitchen. It gets the most visibility and use, of course.
What is your favorite customization in your home and why?
My favorite customizations are that our countertop is different heights and our beam.
What advice would you give to those decorating their new home?
Play around and take pictures. I play with decor then take a picture to see what I would change.
