On August 24, 2016, NorthCoast 99 released the list of 99 great workplaces for top talent in Northeast Ohio. NorthCoast 99 recognizes great places to work for top performing people that drive results, provide competitive advantages, and allow businesses to innovate and grow.
At Wayne Homes a committee of employees meets each year to complete the award application process. The committee is asked to provide feedback about company recruiting, training, compensation, work and life balance, and wellness. Based on these answers along with company-wide surveys, the award winners are chosen.
“Applying for NorthCoast 99 is such a rewarding experience,” committee member Stephanie Yates said. “By winning you get to celebrate not only your company, but also your hard work in applying for the award. I’m proud to have represented my company through this process.”
Human Resources Coordinator Kelly Sumey was also a member of the committee during the application process. She even found her position with Wayne Homes because of the list just three years ago.
“I wanted to work for a company that really genuinely cared about their employees, so I sought out the list of winners and checked out who was hiring,” Sumey said. “Nearly three years later, to now be working for one of the best employers in Northeast Ohio, much less helping with the submission process of this award is amazing. I am proof that this award matters, that prospective employees are paying attention to the top places to work. I am proud to say I helped us achieve this goal once again this year so we can continue to retain top talent in Northeast Ohio.”
Brittany Burkhart, who works in the product development department at Wayne Homes, describes the company’s employees as family.
