At Wayne Homes, we continually set the bar when it comes to providing excellent service to our customers. Our internal Steering Committee is just one tool we use to ensure that we’re giving each other and our customers the best customer experience possible.

The group meets regularly and enjoys brainstorming ways to enhance the customer experience and improve how Wayne Homes operates. Comprised of peer-elected non-managers from nine different geographic regions, the Steering Committee’s mission and purpose is to be an open forum for employees in all types of positions to voice their opinions on topics from how we celebrate birthdays and work anniversaries to how we can work better with each other, our partners and our customers.

At their most recent meeting, the Steering Committee discussed ways to expand and enhance the Random Acts of Kindness program that it started in 2009, as well as ways to improve and increase participation in the Employee of the Month program.  They planned the 2020 Vision meeting to launch the company goals for the next few years to all teammates. They also organized onboarding sessions for new employees, which include outstanding customer experience training, acquainting them with the company processes, culture and history.

In appreciation of the committee’s hard work, the meeting was capped off with the members of Wayne Homes staff presenting the committee with fleece pullovers and handwritten notes thanking them for their participation. This was followed by a team lunch at local restaurant and a few friendly games of pool, darts, shuffleboard and ping pong.
