2023 Wayne Homes Landscape Contest Winners

The winners of the 2023 Wayne Homes Landscape Contest have been announced!

We always look forward to this time of year – the announcement of our landscape contest winners. At Wayne Homes, we don’t miss an opportunity to celebrate our valued homeowners, and this is one of our favorite ways to do just that.

As a reminder, our annual landscape contest allows Wayne homeowners to show off their outdoor escapes. Prizes include a $1,000 Lowe’s gift card for first place, $500 for second, and $250 for third. The photo with the most likes on Facebook earns the People’s Choice Award and a $500 Lowe’s gift card.

Drumroll please…here are the landscape contest winners!

2023 Landscape Contest Winners
  • First Place: Aimee & Joseph Giovinazzo
  • Second Place: Darrin & Janie Martindale
  • Third Place: Kaitlyn & Brian Poleti
  • People’s Choice: Tammy & Kevin Kellogg

First Place

Aimee & Joseph Giovinazzo built a Charleston Craftsman in St. Mary’s, WV, and worked with the Belmont office. Their New Home Consultant was Anne Fowkes.

We loved their use of perennials in their landscaping. Who doesn’t love the ease of flowers coming back year after year? The icing on the cake were the pops of color from strategically placed annuals in their flowerbeds. Interesting height variation in their landscape along with the combination of stone and mulch in their flowerbeds tied in perfectly with the Craftsman aesthetic of their home.

Second Place

Darrin & Janie Martindale built a Providence II Customized Classic in East Liberty, OH. They worked with the Delaware office. Their New Home Consultant was Julie Hurtt.

The combination of perennials and shrubbery in their landscaping created a layered look that drew the eye in. We enjoyed the bright colors of the potted plants on the front steps, as well as the hanging baskets on the inviting front porch. We loved the way the landscape surrounds the front sidewalk, creating an inviting entry to their home.

Third Place

Kaitlyn & Brian Poleti built a Brentwood Farmhouse in Beaver Falls, PA. They worked with the Belmont office, and their New Home Consultant was Jeannette Lengyel.

The Poletis really embraced the slope of their lot at the side of their home and worked it into their landscaping choices. The dark mulch they chose contrasts beautifully with the foundation stone on their home. The stamped concrete sidewalk flows perfectly through their landscape, then pops of color throughout and in the front porch pots are a bright spot. Finally, the height variation in their planting choices creates visual interest and tie in with the trees surrounding their yard.

People’s Choice

Tammy & Kevin Kellogg built a Richmond II Homestead in Baltimore, OH. They worked with the Newark office, and their New Home Consultant was Sue Crow. One of the Kelloggs’ photos received the most likes on Facebook, and it’s easy to see why. Their simple, clean landscaping lines the charming path that welcomes guests into their beautiful home.

Congratulations to all of our landscaping contest winners, and a huge thank you to all who entered! We are grateful to the Wayne Homes community of homeowners that continue to inspire us every day with their pride of ownership and welcoming spirit.
